As Louisiana marks the 40th anniversary of its constitution, one Eunice resident was invited to be among the surviving delegats of the Louisiana Constitutional Convention of 1973, or “C.C. ‘73”, reunion this weekend in New Orleans.
A man accused of trying to run over Eunice police officers has pleaded guilty to narcotics charges in a separate case.
Troy Mott pleaded guilty in 27th Judicial District Court to distribution of cocaine.
Services are Saturday for a former Eunice woman whose SUV crashed into a tree Baton Rouge on Monday.
Police said Pattie Magee Reed’s SUV left the road and crashed into a pine tree.
The accident happened shortly before 4 p.m. Monday.

Nathaniel K. Hill, age 33, 314 W. Kennedy Drive, Lot 35, Iota, LA, speeding, operating a motor vehicle while under suspension, arrested by Louisiana State Police.
The thaw began in Eunice this morning, as the mercury dipped into the 20s but had climbed to 33 degrees by 8 a.m.
Warming will continue through the day, with a high about 52. Tonight's low will be a balmy 40 degrees.

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
