Markkeithanthony Fontenot, 26, 300 block of Boudreaux Street Eunice. Domestic abuse battery, second offense.
Fabio Cantu Jr., 62, 1200 block of Martha Street, Bossier. Theft and home improvement fraud.

House honors Eunice native

Eunice native Les “Pe-Te” Johnson may have made his home in Texas for more than 30 years, but he kept his ties to the Cajun prairie alive and even promoted the culture on Houston radio stations.

Cake sale at St. Anthony church
The Northwest Vocation Club will have a cake sale at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 310 W. Vine Ave., Eunice, before and after all Masses Saturday and Sunday. The proceeds for support seminarians and religious.

There are three options to repair state-owned roads in Eunice, State Rep. Phillip DeVillier, R-Eunice, said at Tuesday’s meeting of the Board of Aldermen.

Police forming tactical unit

Rifles, pepper spray and masks are among the gear Eunice Police are gathering to equip a special response unit. A patrol officer may always be the first responder to active shooting situations or most other calls, but within a year Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot plans to have a tactical unit in place to bring an additional level of expertise to dangerous situations.

Obituaries

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
