Community Garden open hour Tuesdays
The Eunice Community Garden’s open hour on Tuesday has been suspended until milder weather arrives, Patricia Brown, interim garden coordinator, said.

The Eunice All-Star Mustangs won the state championship. They were to compete in Humble, Texas, in the next level of competition.
Two adages came to mind as I kept noticing weather reports while I was looking for something else in some old newspapers.

Former Eunice mayor and St. Landry Chamber of Commerce president Lynn Lejeune is poised to become CEO of the Port of Krotz Springs on Friday.
Lejeune will succeed Gary Soileau, who has served as the port’s chief executive officer since 1989.

The Chataignier Village Council met in its regularly scheduled meeting Monday night and discussed a half-shell business coming to the village that is turtle powered.
Unemployment rates fell over the past 12 months in seven of Louisiana’s metropolitan statistical areas in May. That’s according to not-seasonally-adjusted data from the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
