Fireworks display scheduled at 9 p.m. Monday

Getting ready for the Fourth of July

With the Fourth of July on Monday, fireworks will be legal to use until Tuesday, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
Fireworks can be used in the city from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Veteran former Eunice police officer Varden Guillory arrested for his handling of domestic abuse case

Varden Guillory,

Former Eunice Police Lt. Varden Guillory, 47, was arrested Monday at the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office for obstruction of justice and malfeasance in office, a news release from St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz stated.

Obituaries

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
