The Eunice High Lady Bobcats claimed their share of the District 5-3A title with a 52-35 victory over the Church Point Lady Bears Monday evening at the Bobcat gym.
On Jan. 26, 1986 in New Orleans the Chicago Bears defeated the New England Patriots 46–10 in Super Bowl XX.
Former Eunice High and McNeese wide receiver Keith Ortego was a rookie that season for the Bears.
Both North Central teams clinched their respective District 5-1A championships with a sweep over St. Edmund Friday night.
The top-ranked Lady Hurricanes (22-2, 9-0) opened the game with a 29-16 and then cruised to a 80-30 win over the No. 29 Lady Jays (10-14, 6-3).
PRAIRIE RONDE – The Eunice High Lady Bobcats claimed at least a tie for the District 5-3A title here Friday night with a 37-27 victory over the Northwest High Lady Raiders at the Raiders gym.
Both battles between Eunice High and Ville Platte High came down to the wire in District 5-3A action Tuesday night at the Eunice High gym.
The Lady Cats grabbed a 38-36 win, while the Bobcats fought for a 54-50 victory.
