The Lady Jays’ four runs in the first inning proved enough as St. Edmund grabbed a 4-1 win over St. Thomas More in summer league play at Eunice High on Thursday.
Heather Bieber singled with two outs to start the rally and later scored on a passed ball.
The Eunice Bobcats finished the season at 25-8 overall and 10-2 in District 4-4A.
The Bobcats finished in a tie with Rayne for the district title and had 12 players on the All-District list.
Senior Scotty Bihm earned first-team pitcher honors.
CROWLEY – The Eunice Bobcats took an early lead and staved off a late comeback attempt by the Crowley Gents on the way to an 8-3 victory here Wednesday night at Miller Stadium in Acadiana Metro League (4-0) action.
The St. Edmund Blue Jays finished in a second-place tie with District 5 rival Sacred Heart, who finished as Class 1-A runners-up.
Senior Christian Walker and junior Drew Brown were selected as Class 1-A Honorable Mention All-State
