St. Edmund All-American Dancers
The St. Edmund dance team recently attended the UDA dance camp at the Hyatt in New Orleans. The team received a superior rating on their home routine, drill downs and their A and B routines that were learned at camp.
This week’s Student of the Week is Ting Jiang, a sixth-grader at Central Middle School. His parents are Feiyan and Min Jiang.
The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at 6 p.m. will present a Swamp Pop performance by Matthew Ewing.
Tickets are $5 for general admission. Tickets can be purchased at the door beginning at 4 p.m.
Rehearsals are underway in preparation for first opening of Eunice Players’ Theatre’s summer musical, “Honky Tonk Angels.” First performance of the production is set at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Other shows are scheduled for July 16, 17, 18, 22, 23, 24 and 25th, with July 19 showing at 2 p.m.
Park Ranger Jeremy Sellers of Prairie Acadian Cultural Center in Eunice was the guest reader during Wednesday’s StoryTime hour at the library. Many children listened to, “The Cajun Cornbread Boy,” by De las Casa, Diane. The story is about a Cajun cornbread boy and a Cajun alligator.
