Laken Grouvillia of Eunice wears the crown of 2017 Miss Louisiana State. The Miss Louisiana State pageant is an official preliminary to the Miss Gulf States National Pageant. Grouvillia will advance to Nationals in June. Shelly Winters is the director and CEO of the pageant.

The ladies of “The Dixie Swim Club” put the finishing touches on a scene from the play set to open tonight. The two-act comedy by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten revolves around five women from a former college swim team.
