Acadian Medical Center honored James “Jim” Dodd during a surprise retirement party Wednesday afternoon.
Dodd’s wife, Oliva, along with many of his co-workers and CEO Scott Smith, were among those in attendance for the event.
Over 150 cases of frozen meals were brought to Acadian Baptist Center near Richard to be stored briefly before being used by the Louisiana Southern Baptist Disaster Relief teams to feed those displaced by flooding in Louisiana.

State Rep. Phillip DeVillier recently visited students at Highland Elementary. Students in Amy Myers’ third-and fourth-grade social studies classes completed a unit on government and had the opportunity to meet DeVillier, and were able to ask questions about his responsibilities.
