Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot has received several complaints in reference to stolen political campaign signs inside city limits at various locations.
“I know from past experience, these campaigns signs are expensive,” said Fontenot.
The intersection of Walnut and 2nd streets in Eunice filled with a Mardi Gras crowd that reached an estimated 5,000 people. The Eunice Mardi Gras tradition stayed alive with thousands of people filling the city’s downtown participating in parades, parade-watching, dancing, shopping and eating.
Interim Mayor Scott Fontenot said it was the biggest crowd he had seen in the downtown.

Feb. 10
A $500 scholarship for a St. Landry and Acadia parish high school graduating senior is available through the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association.
St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz and Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon announced the scholarship.
The annual induction ceremony for the Louisiana Political Hall of Fame is always marked, for those closer to the coast, by a long drive up to Winnfield.
