It’s Mardi Gras time, and a twist on traditional king cake took the top prize at the Eunice Community Health Center’s sixth annual Taster’s Choice event Wednesday at LSUE.

A report on the 1970 census stated the city of Eunice population was 11,390, a gain of less than 1 percent over the 1960 census. The parish population was 80,364, down from 81,493 in the 1960 census.
The Eunice Board of Aldermen is to consider a property deal at its meeting scheduled to begin at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Municipal Complex.
The meeting was moved from Tuesday to Wednesday because of Mardi Gras.
