With U.S. Sen. David Vitter expected to not seek re-election in 2016, there has been rush of names ahead of the turn of the year as politicos try to outmaneuver each other before the race begins in earnest.

Twenty street projects estimated to cost $894,000 were approved by the Eunice Board of Aldermen.
The projects are funded from a portion of the city’s 2.2 percent sales dedicated to capital outlay projects, Mayor Scott Fontenot said.
