Slain LSUE student honored

A check for $2,050 was presented to the LSUE Foundation’s Mayci Breaux Memorial Scholarship by a delegation from Delgado Community College in New Orleans on Friday. Second-year Delegado radiologic technology students raised the money in a three-week raffle of NOLA-theme items. The scholarship is in honor of Breaux, who was a first-year radiologic technology student at LSUE who was killed in the July mass shooting at the Grand 16 Lafayette movie theater. The check was presented Friday on the LSUE campus. Voices still crack with emotion at LSUE when people talk about former radiologic technology student Mayci Breaux.
