The field of candidates for the St. Landry Parish school superintendent’s job was cut from five to three in a seven-hour meeting Thursday.
After about one-hour interviews each the final three are Dr. James Gray, Patrick Jenkins and Francis Touchet Jr.
The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Sept. 22
Paul Daniel Leblanc, 40, 500 block of Hwy. 357, Opelousas. Two counts of theft.

The peak of the flu season is on the horizon and along with that two Eunice pharmacists urge the public to get vaccinated.
Eunice Manor plans Halloween Bash
The residents and staff of Eunice Manor invite the public to its first Halloween Bash from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31.
Treats will be available including hot chocolate and fresh-baked cookies.

St. Landry Parish’s public schools need community involvement, Mary Ellen Donatto, a Eunice School Board member, said to the St. Landry Parish Economic Development board Tuesday.
