Beef producers pass a good time

Economist bullish on year for beef producers

Cattle prices should remain strong for 2015, after a brief dip during the past two months, according to an LSU AgCenter beef cattle economist.
“Auction barn prices have been down but they’ve rebounded over the past couple of weeks,” said LSU AgCenter economist Ross Pruitt.

Here's the Beef Cookoff winners

Dupre Farms won best dressed team, best decorated booth, first-place ground meat, second-place tongue, and first-place Brisket.

The 30th annual St. Landry Parish Here’s the Beef Cook-off was held Sunday at the Ag Arena in Opelousas.
Grand champion overall winner was Team Mowata,  Chef Bryon Zaunbrecher,  with his first place Gourmet.
