The Richard Guidry Cajun and Creole Language Fund, a Fund at Community Foundation of Acadiana, is accepting grant proposals that foster or extend the growth of the French language in public discourse, the arts or education.

A two-vehicle crash on La. 92 at Muskrat Road in Acadia Parish took the life ofa 13-year-old Halle Thompson of Crowley and left a female juvenile driver in critical condition, a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I reported.

As the St. Landry Parish School Board executive committee met Monday to discuss whether to begin its meetings at 1 p.m. or continue a 4 p.m. start time, some of the concerns voiced were about public participation.
But there was a problem.
