Long-time educator Marshall A. Thibodeaux said he will run for the Eunice City Council from Ward 1 in the November primary.
Thibodeaux, currently principal of Armstrong Middle School in Rayne, is a life-long Eunice resident and of Ward 1. He is the son of Hester Thibodeaux.
A Eunice man charged with arson in March awaits a June 23 trial date for an aggravated assault case from last April.
And last June he was charged with a narcotics violation and with introducing contraband into the city jail.
