Whether he decides to qualify as a city judge candidate or not, Jay Caswell wants to live in Eunice and is petitioning to do so.
Caswell said that for years his children have attended school in the city and he has practiced law in the city. He is also prosecutor in City Court.
Barring an unexpected change, classes for the 2014-15 school year in St. Landry Parish public schools will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
The last day of classes will be Wednesday, May 27, 2015.
Police are investing two commercial burglaries that occurred last week.
A safe was taken over the weekend from Babineaux Concrete.
Police said it contained a substantial amount of cash and firearms.
How much cash, how many or what type firearms was not disclosed.
“Working Together to Keep Eunice Beautiful” is the goal of Director Donna Baltakis as she encourages the entire community, including schools, businesses, individuals, in the clean up efforts and beautification of the city in recognition of Keep America Beautiful campaign.
