Nonfarm jobs in Louisiana rose by 2,000 in June, according to seasonally-adjusted data released today by the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics, while Baton Rouge had the largest jobs increase for June in the history of that series.
Southern Business & Development magazine ranked Louisiana No. 1 among Southern states for attracting the most significant capital investment and job-creation projects per capita for the seventh year in a row, a news release from Louisiana Economic Development stated.
Community Foundation of Acadiana has received over $11,000 to its In the Line of Duty Fund in response to the tragic July 17 shooting of six Baton Rouge Police officers. Donations are tax-deductible and 100 percet of all contributions will be given to those officers and their families.

When the idea for the LSU AgCenter Food Incubator was first hatched in 2012, Louisiana had no facility where people who wanted to pursue the daunting journey of starting a food business could go for expert advice and production equipment.
