Chapman candidate for VP judge/Ward 1 JP

Alex “Sonny” Chapman has announced he will be a candidate for Ville Platte City Judge. The court’s Small Claims Division is also justice of the peace for Evangeline Parish Ward 1, including Chataigner and Te-Mamou.
Chapman has been a practicing attorney in Ville Platte since 1979. He practiced with former City Judge J. Wendel Fuselier until 1994, when he opened his own practice.
He has been district defender in the Evangeline Public Defender Office since 2007, managing a budget in excess of $300,000 and supervising six attorneys and eight other personnel.
The primary election is on Nov. 4.
