Bicyclists take hit in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS – Biking in a small part of New Orleans could be dangerous to your health, particularly if doing so in the middle of the night.
Police are looking for two apparently young me who twice attacked Esplanade Avenue bicycle riders with bats.
The first incident occurred Friday about 2 a.m. near the intersection of Esplanade and North Robertson Street.

The bicyclist slowed, then another male of about the same age came into the street with an aluminum bat and hit the victim in the mouth with it. The assailants fled.
Responding officers learned of a similar attack earlier, also on Esplanade.
It that incident, the biking victim’s skull was fractured.
