CLINTON, Miss. – No. 1 seed LSUE split games on Friday including a 9-7 loss to No. 2 and Region 23 rival Jones County Community College in the winner’s bracket final.

The LSU Eunice softball team advanced to play a Friday afternoon contest against Jones County Junior College with a trip to the National Championship game on the line after a comeback, 4-3 victory over Des Moines Area Community College earlier Friday.

Second-ranked LSU Eunice is in an elimination game Friday after it saw Hinds Community College plate four runs in the top of the ninth inning in the opening round of the Region 23 Tournament, as the Bengals fell 10-9 to slip into the loser’s bracket.

CLINTON, Miss. – Lady Bengal sophomore Emily Nolan hit a three-run home run and a grand slam to help top-seed LSUE roll to a 12-2 second round win over the Scottsdale Fighting Artichokes on Thursday.
