ELLISVILLE, Miss. - The LSU Eunice softball team captured its fourth-consecutive Region 23 Championship with a 6-1, rain-shortened, four inning victory over Jones County Junior College, as LSU Eunice now will advance to play in next week’s NJCAA National Championship Tournament next week.
ELLISVILLE, Miss. - Top-ranked LSU Eunice advanced to Region 23 softball tournament championship game and earned a spot in next week’s NJCAA National Championship with a 5-2 victory over Jones County Junior College Thursday night.
The good news about last weekend’s series was LSU Eunice exploded for 42 runs in the three-game sweep over Meridian Community College.
The bad news was the Bengals also allowed 27 runs in the three games.
No. 3 Central Catholic of Morgan City exploded for seven runs in the top of the fourth inning as the Eagles cruised to a 12-2 win over No. 19 St. Edmund Tuesday in a Class 1-A regional round game at North Park.
BATON ROUGE – The St. Michael High Warriors rallied from an earlier deficit to defeat the Eunice High Bobcats by an 8-6 margin here Tuesday afternoon on their home field in the regional round of the Class 4A playoffs.
