The ACLU of Louisiana has filed suit against the City of Abbeville Police Department because of a department policy prohibiting employees from engaging in commentary on social media if the comments might give a "negative view towards" the police department, the city or its employees or residents.
A two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on Interstate 49 south near milepost 14 has claimed the life of a Lafayette man. The crash occurred shortly after 2:00 p.m. on September 24, 2014.
