Seale plans cooking demonstration
Charles Seale will demonstrate his grandmother’s recipe for Pork Stew with Topinabours at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center at 4 p.m. Saturday.
The demonstration will be held in the Demonstration Kitchen at the Center, 210 Park Ave., Eunice.

Rotary Club seeks nominations for Administrative Professional of the Year

The Eunice Rotary Club is seeking nominations for the 2016 Eunice Administrative Professional of the Year.
The winner will receive a free trip to Branson, Missouri, courtesy of KEUN Radio, $500 spending money from the Rotary Club, a plaque and a flower arrangement.

12 parks may close as state budget tightens

Chicot State Park is one of the state’s most lucrative and visited parks, and the facility will remain open for business even if the state parks’ budget is cut for next fiscal year.

St. Landry Crime Stoppers spokesman Maj. Eddie Thibodeaux of the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking tips to solve the July robbery of a local veteran’s home.

Obituaries

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
