After four days of testimony, an Evangeline Parish jury of 12 found Samuel Anderson guilty of first-degree murder and armed robbery.
A UPS truck ran into the Louisiana Academy of Beauty, 550 East Laurel Ave., at about 8 p.m. Monday. A Eunice Police report on the incident was unavailable Tuesday morning, but Police Chief Randy Fontenot said there were no injuries. The wreck closed the business for Tuesday’s operation. Jennifer Reed, owner, said classes will reopen as soon as possible. Reed said the UPS driver was trying to avoid someone in the road when the wreck occurred. Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
