Fish Fry dinners at St. Mathilda every Friday
The St. Mathilda Church Ladies Auxiliary will sponsor fish-dinner fundraiser plate lunches from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. every Friday at the Bishop Ceaser Center.
A donation of $8 will be accepted.
The computer information and technology department at LSUE now has a new computer lab for students to learn hands-on skills.
Belly Buddies, a program to provide students with snacks on weekends when they are away from school, has grown from seven students to 25 students at Glendale Elementary.
Rick Nesbitt, owner of KEUN AM & FM radio station, is in the business of playing records, but it seems to go deeper than that.
Nesbitt estimates he has about 150,000 records, the vinyl kind that provided the music for generations before tape, CD and digital downloads.

Candidates for Eunice mayor stated their cases in a forum at the Liberty Center as the March 5 special election nears.
Three of the four candidates, Scott Fontenot, Roland Miller and William “Bill” Thompson, spoke at the event Thursday. Candidate Tim Longman did not particpate.
Business owner and pediatrician are gainful careers, but two LSUE students are worried about the future of the TOPS program and what could happen to how they fund their education for their future careers.
The six new St. Landry Parish Council members began to assert themselves at their second regular meeting.
The council rejected an ordinance that would have directed members to have their expense reports approved by the parish president.
Early voting for the March 5 election continues through Saturday.
The office is closed Sunday. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Persons must present picture identification with the voter’s signature.
Fire District 3, St. Landry Parish’s largest fire district, has been operating at a deficit the past three years and is relying on a $2.1 million reserve fund to keep operations afloat, a fire district administrator said.
