Team United will take on the Harlem Ambassadors in a comedy basketball show at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at Opelousas High School.
Proceeds from the event benefit St. Landry – Evangeline United Way and will be used for The Dolly Parton Imagination Library.

As legislators haggle over possible massive spending cuts to higher education, a community college leader told a St. Landry Parish economic development group that education is an investment and not an expense.

Local teachers, firefighters and law enforcement officers were among those honored at the VFW Post 8971 hosts award banquet Monday night.
About 100 people attended the event, and those at the event also celebrated the post’s 65th birthday.

Lonnie Allison, 50, 500 block of East Vine Street, Eunice. Theft of goods, resisting an officer and domestic abuse battery.
