This is the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office arrest report for Feb, 8.
Keith Jarode Biagase, 40, 621 South Union St., Opelousas, no seat belt, four bench warrants. Arrested by Louisiana State Police.
A $500 scholarship for a St. Landry and Acadia parish high school graduating senior is available through the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association.
St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz and Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon announced the scholarship.

A 42-year-old Crowley man is accused of stabbing two Acadia Parish narcotic agents on Saturday in Mire, a news release from Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon stated.
The annual induction ceremony for the Louisiana Political Hall of Fame is always marked, for those closer to the coast, by a long drive up to Winnfield.

Lex Ryan Arnaud, 24, 1100 block of West Ash Street, Eunice. Bench warrant for simple battery.
Tray Allen Fontenot, 32, 100 block of East Dean Street, Eunice. Disturbing the peace.

It’s Mardi Gras time, and a twist on traditional king cake took the top prize at the Eunice Community Health Center’s sixth annual Taster’s Choice event Wednesday at LSUE.

A report on the 1970 census stated the city of Eunice population was 11,390, a gain of less than 1 percent over the 1960 census. The parish population was 80,364, down from 81,493 in the 1960 census.
The Eunice Board of Aldermen is to consider a property deal at its meeting scheduled to begin at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Municipal Complex.
The meeting was moved from Tuesday to Wednesday because of Mardi Gras.

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
