Slaughter
The Ville Platte Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for Larry Slaughter on the charge of second-degree murder.
Slaughter is being sought in the death of Latoya Richard, 29,, who was found dead in her home on High School Drive with her head in a bucket of water.
The Evangeline Parish Police Jury returned to the issue of possibly building an animal shelter -- or buying a building that could be used as one -- during its first meeting of the new year on January 12.

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
