ST. MARTINVILLE –For the second week in a row, the Eunice High Bobcats scored three touchdowns in their first three possessions.
Coach Paul Trosclair’s Bobcats jumped to a 20-0 lead here Thursday night before the St. Martinville High Tigers knew what hit them.
The St. Edmund defense recorded a shutout against Iota last week after allowing 68 points in their season opener against Northwest.
While scoring 32 points and putting up 375 yards of total offense against the Raiders, Iota held the Jays to 251 yards on the night.
ST. MARTINVILLE – Eunice opened the season with a 48-0 win over Opelousas High before the Bobcats stunned fifth-ranked Jennings for a 44-28 win over the Bulldogs.
The Iowa Lady Yellowjackets earned a 25-7, 25-17, 25-5 sweep over Eunice on the Lady Cats’ court.
Iowa (6-4) jumped out to a 9-0 lead with Kelsey Brashear serving before the Lady Cats scored three times to close the gap to 13-3.
He only threw one touchdown pass, but it was the game winner.
