The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces it is making preparations to close Interstate 10 at the Sabine River, near the Texas State Line, due to flooding. The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning, effective through the early morning hours.
The St. Landry Parish Council is scheduled to meet Wednesday, first at a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. and at 6 p.m. for the regular meeting, both at the Old City Market, 131 W. Bellevue St., Opelousas.

A victim rescued from a house fire Monday morning is being treated at Acadian Medical Center, said Eunice Fire Chief Mike Arnold.
"She is in intensive care, but she is sitting up and talking," Arnold said. "She's 87 years old, and she told me she'll be 88 for Christmas."

Bulb & Blossom Club meeting Monday
The Eunice Bulb and Blossom Garden Club will meet at 5 p.m. Monday at at the residence of Melba Stelly.
This is the club’s annual plant exchange. All members are asked to attend and membership is welcomed to anyone interested.
