The 31st Annual Here’s the Beef Cook-off was held Sunday at the St. Landry Parish Ag Arena, U.S. 190 West, Opelousas, with 61 dishes entered in seven categories.
There were 24 judges for the contest.

Concussion diagnosis, treatment evolves

Concussion treatment has evolved over the years, and Stephanie Aldret, D.O., with The Core Institute at Louisiana Orthopedic Specialists at the Acadian Medical Center, is working on a concussion research study with members of the Louisiana Ice Gators hockey team.

Bulb & Blossom Club meeting Monday
The Eunice Bulb and Blossom Garden Club will meet at 5 p.m. Monday at at the residence of Melba Stelly.
This is the club’s annual plant exchange. All members are asked to attend and membership is welcomed to anyone interested.

Fire at Eunice Superette will not delay opening of new store

A fire broke out in the smokehouse of Eunice Superette’s Eunice-Iota Highway location shortly after 9 a.m. Monday morning. Eunice Superette will celebrate two openings Monday — the reopening of its original location on the Iota Highway and the soft opening of its new location on Laurel Avenue.

Arrest made in armed robberies

Law enforcement agencies are still on the hunt for a Crowley man who they want to question about armed robberies in Eunice and Ville Platte on Monday.
