When most people think crop dusting, yellow airplanes buzzing low over rice fields come to mind, but those aren’t the only craft used for taking care of agriculture crops.

Higgins responds to stories, statements following resignation

Clay Higgins, who resigned on Feb. 29 from the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office, issued a statement Friday through the Rev. Theodore Broussard of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell. The statement references a “Mr. Veillon” and was first posted on Facebook.

Fontenot wins mayor’s post; Soileau elected W4 alderman

Scott Fontenot, 33, won election as Eunice’s youngest mayor by defeating three other candidates in Saturday’s election.
Fontenot, who has been serving as interim mayor since Claud “Rusty” Moody resigned in October, will fill Moody’s unexpired term ending in December 2018.
