An Opelousas woman pleaded guilty to stealing a woman’s identity so she could cash a tax refund check worth more than $6,000, U.S. Attorney Stephanie A. Finley said in a news release.

New, blue garbage carts are due to start arriving in Eunice on Monday, St. Landry Solid Waste District officials said.
The carts, which allow trucks operated by one person to pick up garbage, have already been delivered in Opelousas and the rural area between Opelousas and Eunice.
