Eunice student wins scholarship during SLEMCO meeting

Zachary Stagg of Eunice was one of 20 students winning a $2,000 college scholarship during the 78th SLEMCO Annual Meeting on Saturday, June 6, at the Cajundome in Lafayette.
The electric cooperative’s annual meeting include a grand prizes.

Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell was a guest at a meeting of The Summit Saturday morning at the Rice Palace. Caldwell explained the duties of the attorney general and outlined the success stories of that office during his tenure. Sheriff’s employees are CPR certified

Every commissioned employee — patrol deputies, administration, civil deputies, courtroom bailiffs, communications deputies, and correctional deputies — have been CPR certified, since St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz has been in office, the sheriff said.
