Allen Parish authorities will handle the followup investigation in the case of an Elton woman found dead on the banks of a pond on Swan Lake Lane west of Eunice on Tuesday.
Earthy Maye Griffith, 61, had been reported missing since Sunday.

Ardoin’s Rice Mill, a mile north of the city on the Mamou highway, was destroyed by fire. Alcide Ardoin places the loss at $52,000. He was in New Orleans at the time.
Eunice police continue their search for the man who held up Family Dollar store Thursday morning, escaping with an undetermined amount of money.
The suspect is describe as black with chin-length dredlocks. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a grey hoodie.
