Displaced Mowata residents know all too well, pun intended.
Last week’s oil/gas well blowout caused the displacement and relocation of a number of residents citizens who were forced to evacuate the stretch of area south of Eunice along Highway 13.

Taster's Choice: Bigger and better than ever

At right, Nate Allen, the food and beverage manager of Koasati Pines at Coushatta, serves up some gumbo to Tommy Hillman, of Eunice, at Wednesday’s Taster’s Choice event. Coushatta took the top honor slot for the Professional Desert category after judges sampled Coushatta’s king cake.

The 4th Annual Taster’s Choice at LSUE Acadian Center was a sold-out success for the Eunice Community Health Center, according to the event coordinators. Those in attendance on Wednesday had a chance to sample and vote for over 27 different dishes.
