Temperatures are expected to dip into the upper 20s tonight, following an afternoon of freezing rain and an evening of patchy freezing drizzle.
The Eunice Courir de Mardi Gras was wending its way along La. 29 at 1 p.m., slogging through wind, rain and ice on the annual Fat Tuesday run.
A 3 p.m. parade in downtown Eunicewill hail the runners return to the city as they head to a courir-ending gumbo dinner.
The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a winter weather advisory for all of southeast Texas and central Louisiana, and most of southwest and south central Louisiana. The only locations not in the advisory are Cameron, Vermilion, Iberia, lower St. Martin, and St. Mary Parishes.
