The Eunice High Lady Bobcats swept a doubleheader from the Washington-Marion Lady Indians on Tuesday in District 4-4A action at the Lady Cats facility.
In the first game, the Lady Cats took advantage of walks to their first five batters to score six runs for an early 6-0 lead.
LAFAYETTE – St. Edmund faced Hanson Memorial at the University of Louisiana’s Tigue Moore Field on Tuesday.
The college turf was suitable for the Blue Jays as they earned a 5-1 win over the Tigers.
In their first track meet of the season, the Lady Jays grabbed second, while the Blue Jays finished fourth last Friday at the Eunice High athletic complex.
St. Edmund placed six players on the 5-1A All-District basketball team.
Junior William Chachere (13 ppg) was named first team, while junior John Guillory (10 ppg) was placed on the second team.
Senior Alex Hunt was named to the All-Defensive team.
The Eunice Lady Cats improved to 3-2 in District 4-4A with a 15-0, 20-4 sweep over Opelousas High on Thursday.
In the opener, the Lady Cats exploded for 11 runs in the first inning and sealed the mercy-rule win with four more runs in the third frame.
