The Louisiana Department of Education Tuesday released a set of Parent Guides to School Report Cards designed to support parents’ understanding of strengths and weaknesses in the schools and school districts their children attend.
A note threatening a bomb at Eunice Elementary was reported by phone at about 12:19 p.m. Tuesday, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
A note was found stating a bomb would go off at 12:30 p.m., he said.
Former Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun quarterback Jake Delhomme will visit his alma mater on Friday as the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Fall 2015 Commencement speaker.
He will address graduates and guests at the General Assembly at 11 a.m. at the Cajundome.
The following are arrests by Eunice police.
Dec. 14
Dustin Bourque, 31, 300 block of North East Street, Eunice. Possession of Schedule IV, possession of Schedule II, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of Controlled Dangerous Substance.
The St. Landry Parish Council is to meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Old City Market, 131 W. Bellevue St., Opelousas.
The Council also will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. on an ordinance to set its meeting schedule for 2016.

Dec. 11
Nicholas Smith, 23, 400 block of West Park Avenue, Eunice. Simple criminal damage to property.
Anthony L. Broussard, 59, 1100 block of Broussard Road, Eunice. DWI and no insurance.
