Dec. 16
John W. Parker, 36, 6100 block of Old Basile Hwy., Eunice. Purse snatching.
Horatio Roussell, 38, 200 block of Childs Street, Eunice. Simple battery.
James ‘“Donnie”’ Fontenot is announcing his candidacy for Eunice Ward 4 alderman in the March 5 election.
His announcement includes the following.
“I was born and raised in Eunice, and a graduate of Eunice High School in 1983.
An audit of the St. Landry Parish Economic Development District found “everything is in order,” accountant Steven Moosa said.
Moosa delivered the audit report by Darnall, Sikes, Gardes and Frederick at the district’s board meeting Tuesday.
Difficulties in acquiring land for a parish event center south of Opelousas may force the St. Landry Economic Industrial Development District to seek a different site.
That was one option discussed at the parish development district meeting Tuesday.
A second bomb hoax within a week occurred at Eunice Elementary.
Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said investigators are focusing on two suspects.
The latest bogus bomb threat was at Eunice Elementary and reported by phone at about 12:19 p.m. Tuesday.
