Eunice streets scheduled for improvement listed

Twenty street projects estimated to cost $894,000 were approved by the Eunice Board of Aldermen.
The projects are funded from a portion of the city’s 2.2 percent sales dedicated to capital outlay projects, Mayor Scott Fontenot said.

The work “Jimbo” Petitjean, Acadia Parish assessor, put into a two-year fight with Bayou Cove Peaking Power, LLC, over what the parish was owed was no short feat.

Obituaries

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
