Twenty street projects estimated to cost $894,000 were approved by the Eunice Board of Aldermen.
The projects are funded from a portion of the city’s 2.2 percent sales dedicated to capital outlay projects, Mayor Scott Fontenot said.

A woman who was hit by a pickup truck and thrown across two lanes of traffic was treated and released from Acadian Medical Center Wednesday, Eunice police report.
A note stating the school was going to blow up in an hour forced the evacuation of Eunice Junior High School Thursday afternoon.
Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said the crudely written note was reported from a school employee at 1:36 p.m.

A 26-year-old Eunice woman has been charged with making 4- and 6-year-old children have sexual intercourse, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
Christina Thomas, 26, 240 block of 4th Street, was charged with two counts of molestation of a juvenile on Wednesday.

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
