Former educator and mayor Claud “Rusty” Moody Jr. died Tuesday morning — a little more than a month after his Oct. 7 resignation as mayor of Eunice.
The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff.
Nov. 4
Terrell Derone Rubin, 30, 100 block of Daisy Lane, Opelousas. Driving under suspension, open container, careless operation. Arrested by Louisiana State Police.
A man from Alabama was sentenced last week to 120 months in prison for transporting sexually explicit pictures of a minor, U.S. Attorney Stephanie A. Finley said in a news release.
The following are arrests by Eunice police.

John Carroll Ledoux, 67, 2800 block of Perchville Road, Eunice. Probation violation on DWI first offense.

The death Tuesday morning of former mayor Claud “Rusty” Moody Jr. was announced during a special Board of Aldermen meeting at City Hall.
He was 71.

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
