Oaths were recited by interim Mayor Scott Fontenot and Alderwoman Connie Thibodeaux on Tuesday at City Hall. They hold the interim seats until an is held in April.

Although the overall Litter Index for Eunice rose from 1.65 in 2014 to 2.4 in 2015, the city’s appearance hasn’t changed that much, Donna Baltakis, Keep Eunice Beautiful director, said.

James Carlos “Buddy” Street Jr.
A memorial Mass for longtime Eunice News and Church Point News circulation manager “Buddy” Street is scheduled at 3:30 p.m. Friday at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard with the Rev. Tom Voorhies officiating.
James Carlos “Buddy” Street Jr. died Monday. He was 68.

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
