More than 30 businesses participating in Noel on the Prairie Saturday, Sunday

There are only 44 more shopping days ‘til Christmas, and shopping deals can be found right here in Eunice this weekend during the 16th annual Noel on the Prairie event.

Oaths taken at Eunice City Hall

Oaths were recited by interim Mayor Scott Fontenot and Alderwoman Connie Thibodeaux on Tuesday at City Hall. They hold the interim seats until an is held in April.

Eunice Litter Index worsens

Although the overall Litter Index for Eunice rose from 1.65 in 2014 to 2.4 in 2015, the city’s appearance hasn’t changed that much, Donna Baltakis, Keep Eunice Beautiful director, said. 

Capt. Higgins sought to help solve animal shelter theft

The story about a July theft at the St. Landry Parish Animal control Office in Opelousas refuses to go away. 
That it won’t go away is mostly due to Pam Gautreau, District 8 Parish Council member.

Obituaries

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
