For the last 10 years, leaders from law enforcement agencies, fire departments, first responders, industries, local hospitals, non-profits and the St. Landry Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness have gathered in Opelousas to discuss the parish’s emergency preparedness plan each April.

The case for a Eunice master plan is to be presented to the mayor and aldermen at a 6 p.m. Thursday meeting at City Hall.
Developing a master plan was scrapped in April as too expensive by Mayor Rusty Moody, but the door was not closed on the plan.

Guillory is one of 21 legislators who reached the legal limit on their time.

The use of fireworks in the Eunice city limits is allowed through July 5, and fireworks are allowed outside city limits in the parish year-round.

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
