Four students were awarded scholarships by the Eunice Kiwanis Club on Thursday.

One shot shook the town

Boys will be boys, particularly when they get bored and don’t have anything to do on a hot summer day. But, boy oh boy, sometimes things can get downright explosive when they are left to their own devices -- especially if they have a .22 rifle with them.

Coloring contest winner

Guillory term-limited out of Legislature

Guillory is one of 21 legislators who reached the legal limit on their time.

Outdoor enthusiasts advised to beware of open wounds near water

If you live in Louisiana, you probably either fish or know someone who does. It is important to spread the word to family and friends about the dangers of fishing, kayaking or participating in other water-based activities with open wounds.

Obituaries

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
