PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—Medical Mission Sister Isidora Bollich, M.M.S., a native of Mowata and former member of St. Lawrence Parish, will celebrate her 60th Jubilee on Aug. 15 at a special Mass and Reception at the Medical Mission Sisters’ North American Headquarters in Philadelphia.
Late in the afternoon on Feb. 24, 1902, a Monday, word came to Welsh by telephone that a livery stable in Lake Charles was holding some mules supposedly belonging to Ward Earll, a farmer living outside of town.
A 15-year-old boy, who is a member of a street gang, has been arrested for two assaults that ocurred this month, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
The teen is charged with attempted armed robbery and second-degree armed robbery, he said.

While some country girls are hard-wired to want a pony from the moment they are born, few of them actually ride a horse mere weeks after they are born.
A Eunice man died in a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on La. 370 west of La. 35 in Acadia Parish, Louisiana State Police Troop I reports in a news release.
The crash, which occurred about 2 p.m. Monday, took the life of 60 year old Anderson Domingue, 60, of Eunice.

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
