A two-vehicle crash on the eastbound lanes of U.S. 190 at La. 95, just east of Eunice, claimed the life of Krystal McGinn, 38, of Iota at 9:34 p.m. Thursday, a Louisiana State Police Troop I news release stated.

A 32-year-old man has been arrested for felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and contributing to the delinquency of juvenile, a news release from Lt. Clay Higgins, public information officer for St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
Joseph McKinley Guillory
A Eunice man originally arrested on a manslaughter charge after a fatal stabbing is now charged with second-degree murder, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
The charge against Joseph McKinley Guillory, 29, 515 B. Fuselier St., Eunice, was upgraded Wednesday, he said.
Louisiana State University Eunice has named 266 students to the spring semester Chancellor’s List in recognition of their academic achievement.
The list comprises full-time students who maintained at least a 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale during the semester.
This time of year should be the “heart” of sweet potato planting season in Louisiana. But instead, the production schedule is being delayed by unrelenting rain.
The Eunice Police Department, which is partnering with the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission to reduce the number of fatal and injury crashes in Louisiana, launched “Click It Or Ticket” May 18.

Irice Ann Darbonne Lavergne passed away on Thursday November 17, 2016 at the age of 73.
Burial will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
