Jason and Jared Monk have been selected as the 80th International Rice Festival Grand Parade marshals, according to Elisabeth LeLeux, festival president.
The festival is slated for the weekend of Oct. 20 through 23 in downtown Crowley.
In recently released results, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ Five-Star Quality Rating System recognized Eunice Community Home Health with a 5-star rating in quality. The most recent ratings were released by CMS in July.
The city of Eunice is one of the only cities in the area spraying regularly for mosquitoes, Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot said.
The spraying has been underway for the past three months, he said.

The second Experience Louisiana Festival now has a poster created by Eunice resident Hannah Thibodeaux.
But don’t look for Thibodeaux on the signed posters. The artist refers to herself as Hannah Gumbo.
