The Eunice City Ccouncil has cleared the way for a proposed 11-house subdivision on the recently abandoned Marjorie Street extension, just north of Maple Avenue, between 13th Street and Viola Street.
The obscenity case against former Eunice High teacher Jacqueline Fruge is closed.
She pleaded guilty in district court last week in a case which began when she texted inapprropriate images of herself to a student.
Evangeline Parish schools are closed Wednesday because of predicted wintry weather conditions. The closure is based on recommendations from parish emergency response officials and the National Weather Service.
Three Ville Platte juveniles– who range in ages 14 to 16 – were arrested and charged in a Eunice home invasion.
The National Weather Service in Lake Charles is continuing the winter weather advisory for Hardin, Jasper, Newton, and Tyler counties, as well as Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Evangeline, Rapides, St. Landry, and Vernon parishes tonight into Wednesday morning.
